Frank Dudley Ltd (FDL) has invested heavily in our equipment, people and processes so that today we offer a full turn-key service from design, toolmaking, manufacture assembly and just-in-time delivery to demanding sectors such as automotive and aerospace.

FDL has over 35 presses to suit your requirement ranging from 25T– 630T on both our coil fed progression presses and also our tandem manually operated presses. Production rates are up to 80,000 pieces per day. Our manufacturing plant occupies 57,000 square feet and houses a range of ancillary processes to support your bespoke assembly requirements, all of which are maintained to industry benchmark standards.

We can offer metal pressings from laser cut blanks with secondary operations if required.

Custom metal pressings and stampings

At the heart of our single operation metal stamping expertise lies our range of ‘C’ frame and large bed power presses. These range in capacity from 25 tonnes-630 tonnes, offering our customers total flexibility when it comes to choosing the press that best suits their needs.

Our efficient tooling solutions offer complete flexibility, value for money and the highest level of quality. We offer customers a wide choice of metal forming operations, materials, finishes and production volume. Due to our wide range of capacities, operations can be carried out individually, in pairs for handled parts and to ensure we keep our competitive edge, we will also gang or stage certain operations.

FDL understand that the quality of our services and components are only ever as good as the machinery and people we invest in. All our staff are trained to NVQ Business Improvement Techniques (BiT) Level 1. Fifteen of our 70 staff have completed an apprenticeship or are in formal training and we have four employees taking an apprenticeship. Our machines are regularly maintained and new equipment includes a new brightware manufacturing cell.

Examples of operations FDL currently produce:

We can produce metal stampings in the following materials:

  • Stainless steel, mild steel and aluminium 0.5mm to 15mm thick

We also offer a wide range of finishes for your components, including but not limited to:

  • Surface – vibro debur, chemical black or polished
  • Plating – zinc, barrel zinc, chrome or black chrome
  • Paint – powder or e-coat

PRODUCTION VOLUMES

FDL can manufacture any volume from 50 components per batch to 15,000 components per week. If you need lower volumes, just let us know and we will do our utmost to accommodate your needs. We can offer metal stampings from laser cut blanks with secondary operations if required.
